Whether on foot or by bicycle, discover the remains of ancient history at the sides of the Roman roads. This brochure is a guide book to the points of interest within the city of Cologne. Cologne was the seat of the governor and a central hub in Roman Rhineland. It was where the most important highways in the Germania Inferior province all met. The ancient roads developed but remain important traffic arteries until the present day. Because of that fact the commited curators the Römisch-Germanisches Museum (Romano-Germanic Museum) decided to focus the VIA Brochure on ancient sites as well as on modern buildings.
